What to expect
At your first appointment we will try and establish the pathology and mechanism of injury. We will examine your feet, legs, pelvis and spine alignment in stance and gait. Ideally we like to see runners actually running naturally, and this usually means outside. Therefore please wear clothes that allow easy visualisation and access to the feet, legs, and pelvis (avoid long skirts & dresses). Runners should bring or wear jogging pants or shorts as well as bringing their running shoes.

Initial consultations last approximately 45 minutes and at the end of which we should have tailored a treatment plan, some of which we can start straight away. Most treatment plans will need between three and six visits, but some conditions may need long-term care.

Insurance Cover
If you have medical insurance and wish to claim for your musculoskeletal podiatry, please check with your insurance company first as cover is very variable across companies. For example some companies allow you to make an appointment directly, others need you to see your GP and get a referral through them. Most companies need a referral from a consultant acting within their specialty. Essentially this means a referral to your GP to a consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon or Rheumatologist for example, who can then refer you to us. However, there are some company policies and companies who will not recognize podiatry under their schemes.
If you are accepted for insurance cover, please bring you company policy number and/or authorization number with you to your first consultation.
